What is the date for the Class of 2020 Spring Convocation?
The Spring Convocation for the Class of 2020 will be held on May 9, 2021

The Registrar’s office will be mailing your parchments to your home address listed in mesAMIS. This process will begin after the conferral of degrees.
ALL 2020 graduates are asked to check their mailing address by logging on to mesAMIS before May 20, 2020 and ensure the address listed is the address where they wish their parchment be mailed.

The Alumni office teamed up with Tempo Framing to cover the cost of shipping (within Canada) for your online frame purchase, from June 5 to June 26. Prior to June 5 a link will be emailed to 2020 Graduates, to purchase your frame with free shipping. You can view the frames here
Yes, we will be asking graduates to RSVP for convocation, as well you will be required to apply to graduate.
More information will be sent out in the fall, please update your email address with the Alumni Affairs office by providing them with your non StFX email here
This email address will be used to communicate how and when you register for Convocation, as well as events that will be taking place during your convocation weekend.
How many guest tickets does each graduate get?
Each graduate will receive 5 guest tickets, these will be given to each graduate when they pick up their gown.
How do I purchase Grad Gala Tickets?
In order to purchase Grad Gala tickets, you must register for convocation, at which time you will have the option to purchase your Grad Gala Tickets.
How do I book Accommodations? There will be room blocks available for graduates and their families, in the coming weeks - watch your email for the booking link.
Accommodations in and around Antigonish fill up quickly for Convocation weekend so it is best to book early.

If you plan to have a family dinner during graduation weekend, we highly encourage booking reservations early.

Each graduate is allotted five guest tickets and will receive them when they pick up their gown. Graduates are unable to pick up tickets prior to Convocation week.
Guests should plan to arrive together one hour prior to the ceremony time and proceed to the arena in the Keating Centre to be seated no less than 15 minutes prior to the ceremony’s scheduled start. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. In the interest of all concerned, ushers will not permit seats to be held for late arriving guests or personal belongings. Also ushers will be ensuring all seats are filled, so please make sure to not leave an empty seat beside the guest next to you.
There is no specific dress code for convocation guests. However, we recommend business casual attire as that is required of graduates.
Prior to convocation, contact the special events staff at the in the alumni department by emailing jlinthor@stfx.ca. Please note that the Keating Centre Arena is a completely accessible building. There are also a limited number of accessible parking spots available close to the Keating Centre.
Parking is limited at StFX on the day of convocation. Parking for graduates, family and guests is free and available at any of the open parking lots throughout campus. It is recommended that you arrive at least one hour prior to the start of the ceremonies to secure parking. Carpooling and taxis are recommended.
Convocation ceremonies are typically two hours long.
During both spring and fall convocation, you are able to watch the live broadcast of the ceremonies. You can find a link to the live broadcast here.

Degrees: Ph.D. in Educational Studies; Masters of Science, Education and Adult Education; Bachelors of Education, Science, Nursing, Human Nutrition, Human Kinetics; Diplomas in Engineering and Integrated Dietetic Internship.
PM Ceremony
Degrees: Bachelors of Arts, Business Administration, Information Systems, Music and Diplomas in Jazz Studies.
