The Brian Mulroney Institute of Government Fellows Lectures Presents

The Epstein Files: Eastern European Lessons on How to Read Them

Dr. Lavinia Stan (Political Science, Mulroney Institute)

March 16, 2026

4:00 pm–5:30 pm

MulH 3022

The Epstein Files are the most extensive collection of documents, photos, and videos ever released to the public by the US Department of Justice. They come decades after Central and Eastern European state and non-state actors started to grant access to sensitive information found in secret files, government collections, or stolen archives. Having studied these public disclosures and having been involved for some time in debates in that part of the world, Dr. Lavinia Stan will identify several lessons the East can offer to the West to make sense of this information dump, assess its consequences, and avoid its pitfalls.

All are welcome.
