Your Academic Confidence, Preparedness, and Ultimate Success Depends on Your Overall Wellbeing.

StFX offers a wide range of supports and resources to help you care for your academic health, physical health, mental health, and spirituality. By promoting a healthy body/healthy mind approach, we give you the best possible support system for both academics and life.

Physical and Mental Health Care

With a full team of physicians, nurses, and certified counsellors, the Health and Counselling Centre provides primary health care to StFX students right on campus. Services include medical, sexual, and mental health services, including individual and group counselling—always in a warm, welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment.

Academic Support Services

The Student Success Centre gives students access to a large number of academic resources that foster their success. These resources include free academic skills instruction and coaching, help on assignments, subject tutoring services, English language help, and places to study with help at hand.

Academic Advising

Academic advisors help students plan their educational journey and answer questions related to academics, careers, and even personal matters. They can offer you advice if you have questions about meeting the program requirements for your degree, declaring or changing your major, and much more.

Supports for Students With a Disability

For students with diagnosed, permanent disabilities, the Tramble Centre for Accessible Learning offers a student-centred program of support. This includes course registration help; assistive technology support and training; physical accessibility arrangements; testing accommodation, tutoring, note-taking assistance, and more.

Support for International Students

For our international students joining the StFX community, the Office of Internationalization provides specialized support, including dedicated services like our International Student Orientation program.

Diversity Engagement Support

For our students who identify as Indigenous, Black, or 2SLGBTQIA+, the Diversity Engagement Centre is home to advisors who offer a range of support services. It is also home to StFX’s Manager of Human Rights and Equity.

Indigenous Student Support

The Kiknu Indigenous Student Centre (Kiknu translates to “our home") is a safe space for Indigenous students and their families. The Centre fosters an environment that promotes friendship and the journey toward reconciliation, while supporting Indigenous student success and overall wellbeing.
