Student Career Services is pleased to assist you in your work with StFX students. We provide the following services to faculty and staff: 

We help you support students through: 

• Workshops for your class/group: Don't cancel class! If you plan to be away, we can deliver career programming for your class. Topics can include what to do with degree in, resume/CVs and cover letters, interview strategies, job searching, discovering interests, networking, skills assessments, thinking about grad/professional school?    
• Career Events: Throughout the year we will host workshops, a career fair, information sessions, have coffee chats, invite employers or grad/professional schools to campus.  
• Job Search Resources: We have information on how to write an effective resume/cover letter/CV, tapping into the hidden job market, networking, and more!  
• Drop-in career advising: Through our Career Studio initiative, students can drop in to get help on various career or employment-related questions.  
• Resume review appointments: Trained resume coaches work with students in one-on-one appointments on resume and cover letter strategy.   
• Career Counselling appointments: A career counsellor works with students in one-on-one appointments on various career questions like, which degree is best for me? How can I figure out what I want to do? What are the options with this degree?  

Faculty and staff are encouraged to refer students to the StFX Student Career Services. We enjoy collaborating with all departments on-campus to facilitate student success. We are open year-round and students from first year to final year can access our services.  

Need Help Hiring a StFX Student?

Through funding partnerships with the NS Government Post-Secondary Accessibility Services and the Labour, Skills and Immigration, faculty and staff can apply to the wage incentive programs, EDGE and BOLD.  

The Engage, Develop, Grow Your Employability (EDGE) Program is a wage incentive program for NS Tramble Centre students* who want to work in a summer role within the province of Nova Scotia. You can learn more about the Engage, Develop, Grow Your Employability (EDGE) Program here.  

*There are additional student eligibility requirements for the EDGE wage incentive program.  

The Building Opportunities for Learning and Development (BOLD) Program is a wage incentive program for historically excluded students who want to work in a summer or part time role within the province of Nova Scotia. You can learn more about the BOLD Program here.
