All applications to the Endowment must be accompanied by a statement containing: an identification of the category for which funding is being proposed; a description of how the proposal fits the purpose of the Endowment, or the name of the undergraduate student being nominated for the Scholarship and an outline of her or his achievements; and a budget detailing the expenses to be covered by the application and a rationale for the costs to be supported by the Endowment.

Applications for any of the initiatives supported by the Jules Léger Endowment are made using the StFX ROMEO Researcher Portal.

The adjudication Committee will meet to consider applications three (3) times a year, the deadlines for which are October 1, January 15, and April 1. Applications for the Jules Léger Research Chairs in the Humanities and Social Sciences may only be submitted at the January 15 deadline. If one of these dates fall on a weekend or holiday, the deadline will be the next working day.

The total sum available per year is 4% of the total endowment, or approximately $60,000 (as of 2015). The amount available per year shall increase in size as the endowment grows, and the total amount is to be divided amongst all categories.
