Biology is the science of living organisms and their interactions with the world around us. Several biology courses also deal with the influence that humans have on the global environment. The Department of Biology offers courses that emphasize the structure and function of organisms, from molecules to ecosystems. Undergraduate and Graduate programs are available in Microbiology, Animal and Plant Physiology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Marine and Freshwater Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Sciences. We also have a Co-op program for students who wish to work experience intermixed with studying.
On this website, you'll find information on our faculty, staff, facilities, and courses, as well as information for students considering a career in biology. Take an opportunity to experience the breadth of what the department has to offer!
