Yvonne Fraser
I am a 1997 graduate of the StFX BScN program. Following graduation, I traveled to Alberta and obtained a wide range of nursing practice experiences in acute care adult nursing at the University of Alberta Hospital. Like many Maritimers, I returned to Nova Scotia and added to tertiary care experience by practicing in a 10-bed hospital in rural Nova Scotia. I have also practiced in regional hospitals in the province.
I began my appointment as a Nurse Educator in the School of Nursing at StFX University in 1999. I have been a Nurse Educator in all years of the nursing program, supervising students in acute care, pediatrics and teaching Introduction to Clinical Nursing Practice and Nursing Care of Adults during Intercession.
I graduated with a MEd from StFX in 2017. I am currently the Clinical Placement Nurse Educator for the School of Nursing. I coordinate and supervise students in semester 4, Introduction to Nursing Practice as well as in Semester 8, Transition to Nursing Practice: Consolidation, across all streams of the program.
I am the mother of two daughters and have 5 grandchildren.
