Degree Requirements

If you’re interested in exploring Classical Studies, there are several ways to explore the discipline at StFX. Students in arts, science, and applied programs may expand their education by taking any of the courses offered by the Classical Studies Department as electives or using 12 credits for a pair in Classical Studies.

Students pursuing a BA may also take a minor in Classical Studies. 

Course requirements for the minor are:  

• CLAS 111 or 120 
• CLAS 230 or 240 
• One of the following options: 
  • One of CLAS 111, 120, 230, 240  
  • 6 credits from CLAS 211, 212, 213, 214 
  • ENGL 206 and 207 
  • PHIL 351 or 352 
  • RELS 340 or 345
