  2. Complete the supplemental application found here: Supplemental Application.
  3. On your supplemental application, you will need to provide two named references complete with their email addresses.  A reference form is sent to them automatically for completion.

Please, ask references to submit their reference form using the following naming convention, in PDF format (where last name and first name are yours - if you go by one name only, please supply that name):

“Ref For - Last name, First Name ”

  4. Official Transcripts (from all post-secondary institutions) are to be sent to StFX Admissions. Graduates of StFX do not need to provide a copy of their transcript from StFX. Transcripts can be submitted to StFX Admissions officially by your post-secondary institution by email (PDF format) to StFX Admissions. One official copy of your transcript from each post-secondary institution attended. Transcripts in a language other than English should be provided in their original language, along with a certified translation into English. Transcripts in French do not require translation.
  5. Starting in July 2025, successful applicants to the Master of Education program will need to pay a $500.00 confirmation fee to secure their spot after receiving their acceptance notification. Please note: this non-refundable fee will be applied to your student account as a tuition payment.

Mi’kmaq and African Nova Scotian applicants: students who self-identify on their application as Mi’kmaw or African Nova Scotian are eligible to apply for a Sherman-Deveau Scholarship for Education. This scholarship combines funds from the Ann Sherman Fund and Jeannine Deveau Equity Endowment. Students experiencing financial hardship relative to the confirmation fee may apply to the Dean of Education for consideration of early award of a non-refundable portion of the scholarship to be applied directly to the confirmation fee.

Important Information Regarding Licence Upgrade: Teachers in Graduate Studies in Nova Scotia are reminded that they need to apply to Teacher Certification (Department of Education and Early Childhood Development) BEFORE they begin their Masters of Education to obtain an Approval for License Upgrade. It is not automatic that the program will be approved for license upgrade so please make sure you contact Teacher Certification. (Office of Teacher Certification Forms & Fees)
