The Schwartz School of Business instilled the foundations for success in today's dynamic business world, having taught me many necessary values and skills such as integrity, work ethic, financial analysis, and presentational skills. Since graduating from X in 2014, I was offered many opportunities in the world of finance, and now have a career as an investment banking associate with Setter Capital in Toronto.

The Gerald Schwartz School of Business provided me with the practical skills that I needed to be successful post-graduation. The intimate class sizes and Maritime hospitality created a unique environment where professors became mentors and classmates became friends. I was able to find a job in my field straight out of school and apply the skills that I learned.

I can’t imagine having gone to any other school. It shaped who I am and gave me the work ethic, communication skills, and confidence I have since carried into the jobs I have had post grad. 

The Schwartz School of Business was the perfect undergraduate experience. The professors truly care about their students and always go above and beyond their duties to ensure students are learning and being challenged in a welcoming and fun environment.

Schwartz is a business school like no other, combining critical analysis, collaboration, and creativity into an extremely well-rounded educational program. Without the skills developed through my time here, I would not have been as confident or successful joining Canada's start-up ecosystem and beginning my career at Skylight.

During my time at StFX, I was proud to be taught by outstanding faculty members that were so generous with their time and business knowledge. The lessons I learned at the Gerald Schwartz School of Business were imperative to my professional development and have allowed myself to be positioned in my dream industry early on in my career.

The BBA program gave me the foundation (learning, group work + cases) I needed to help navigate my career path, complete my graduate degree & have confidence as a founder & activist.

The Gerald Schwartz School of Business provided me with the hard skills as well as the confidence and experience to be a well-rounded and capable employee. Having had small class sizes and a department that supported me with my research, I was able to thrive during my time at StFX. History professors supported student attempts in creating community engagement with historically charged activities and were enthusiastic about providing frameworks for new understandings of the past and present. The History degree was excellent training for my career.

Put simply, an English degree at StFX sets you up for success no matter the field or career. From your first 100-level intro course to your last senior seminar, the brilliant and thoughtful faculty will enable you to think critically, to be ambitious, and to trust in your own ideas, skills that are applicable in any job.

The dedication the Department of English professors have toward their students was beyond anything I had expected from my university experience, and I am thankful for all the energy they pour into their classes.

“I received my degree from StFX in Human Nutrition, but I walked away with so much more. This university has provided me with the highest quality education and a second home. Due to the small class sizes, my Human Nutrition professors would customize lessons based on the student interests. The PGOV program offers real-world skills development that you cannot find in many other programs surrounding policy and government work. Not only expanding my knowledge but my employability was important for me when picking a program and university, StFX and the PGOV program delivers on that. I love the hands-on approach many of the professors take. You will not just connect with professors to discuss a paper, but to help you plan your education and career path. Odds are you will end up connecting with one or two specifically who can help guide you through this crazy time in your life. That is invaluable.
